Who is Enzo Kana-Biyik? Man Utd ‘agree deal’ for exciting first summer signing

Le Havre, a team in Ligue 1, has agreed to terms with Manchester United in order to acquire the services of Enzo Kana-Biyik, a young striker.

After a disappointing season in the Premier League, Manchester United is trying to improve its roster.

They also need to build a more sustainable strategy to recruiting in order to compete more consistently and prevent big financial waste in this age of profit and sustainability laws. This is for the purpose of avoiding huge financial waste.

It has been reported by the French news outlet Le Parisien that the Red Devils are getting close to making a step in the right direction by striking an agreement with Le Havre for the transfer of Kana-Biyik, who is nineteen years old.

Although the striker has not yet made his debut with the Normandy club’s first team, he has been putting in sessions with the senior side during the current season.

“Kana-Biyik has decided to leave the Normandy club, which was still hoping to extend his contract a few days ago,” says Le Parisien, quoting L’Equipe. “Kana-Biyik could move on to other opportunities.”

“[He] is in very advanced discussions with Manchester United, which, according to our information, has already obtained the agreement of the player and his family.”

Is Enzo Kana-Biyik a real person?
Kana-Biyik was born in Paris and had French citizenship; nonetheless, he comes from a Cameroonian football family with a strong footballing heritage.

His father, Andre, was a Cameroonian football player who played for Le Havre in the early 1990s and gained 80 international caps during his near-decade-long career with the Cameroon national team.

Additionally, Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik, Enzo’s older brother, began his professional career at Le Havre. He then went on to play for Rennes, Toulouse, and Metz, in addition to spending five years in Turkey pursuing his career.

Based on the information provided by Transfermarkt, the 18-year-old player has only played a few minutes for France U18.

Man Utd have supposedly beaten the likes of Monaco and Marseille to pick him up and Le Parisien believes they will send him right back to mainland Europe, where a loan stint at Ineos-owned Swiss Super League club Lausanne awaits.

How has Enzo Kana-Biyik played this season?
Head coach Didier Digard has picked Kana-Biyik in his matchday squad twice in 2024-25 but he’s yet to make his senior debut.

During the month of February, the young player was not utilised as a substitute for Le Havre’s victory against Lille in Ligue 1 and for the team’s elimination from the Coupe de France against Stade Briochin in December.

Since the beginning of the year 2025, he has been a consistent member of the Le Havre U19 team. He has participated in each of their most recent eight league matches, playing the full 90 minutes, and scored four goals, bringing his total for the season to eight.

Kana-Biyik, who is also the nephew of Francois Omam-Biyik and has a younger brother and cousin who are also playing in the game, is demonstrating his value in front of goal, but the Red Devils are taking a risk by signing him.

The kind of gamble that is low risk but high reward is exactly what they need to learn how to do. It is no longer feasible to pay millions of dollars to get players like Kana-Biyik from their second teams by signing them.

As far as Enzo Kana-Biyik is concerned, what has been said?
Observers who are in the know have a very high opinion of Kana-Biyik.

According to Africa Soccer, the young player possesses “attacking flair and instinctive finishing,” while journalist Christopher Michel acknowledges that he is a “great talent.”

According to TEAMtalk, Michel is the trustworthy source that first reported that United was interested in Sekou Kone when the news broke.

The initial report that he made stated that Kana-Biyik was going to join with Marseille, and that United was keeping an eye on him. However, it now looks like the Red Devils have hijacked the deal.
