A truck driver who was on the same route as the terrible accident, however, has denied reports that Jota’s car was above the speed limit.
According to Jose Azevedo, the car was not exceeding the speed limit at the time of the collision, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“I stopped, tried to help, and filmed it, but there was nothing I could do,” he claimed. I am morally upright. Since I had no idea who was there, I am aware of what I went through that evening. I send the family my sympathies.
“I promise the family that they weren’t speeding. I was able to determine the car’s make and color. This route is worthless, and I know it because I drive it every day, Monday through Saturday.
Azevedo went on: “Even though it’s a dark road, I could clearly see the car’s make and color. Unfortunately, that’s how it ended later.
Meanwhile, another truck driver reported that Jota’s car was passing at a “moderate speed” five minutes prior to the collision, according to Spanish news agency MARCA.
