Sheffield United had a difficult transfer window, with multiple stars leaving Bramall Lane during the summer; but, one of their important players, Tom Cannon, has recently made some encouraging remarks.

Indeed, Sheffield United endured one of the most difficult summers of any Championship club.

When asked if he pondered leaving his former colleagues, Cannon responded, “No, not at all.”I want to be United’s number nine. When asked how he handles conjecture, he replied, “To be honest, it’s quite easy.”Rumours are often just that. Rumours. They’re just little things generated by a fan account on social media or anything. I have an agent, so he handles with everything.

“If I observe something or am not sure what is going to happen, he will call me. So I simply let him get on with it. If anything were to happen, I’m confident my agency would know, not a fan account.”

Cannon’s commitment to the Blades will be a major boost for the club during this period of uncertainty, and Wilder will be hoping the striker can regain the form he showed on loan with Preston and Stoke.

Why were Preston North End and Stoke City interested in Tom Cannon?

Preston and Stoke’s interest in Cannon was unsurprising given that the forward had previously enjoyed successful loan spells with both teams.

Following the losses of Milutin Osmajic, Michael Smith, Daniel Jebbison, and Lewis Dobbin, the Lilywhites sought a new alternative up top and considered a move for Cannon.

Stoke were seeking for a new star centre-forward to lead their line for season, and despite the signing of George Hirst from Ipswich Town, they were looking to supplement the Scot with the arrival of Cannon.
