This is the Real Reason Why Messi will miss another MLS game as Inter Miami star aims for Monterrey clash

The club hopes Lionel Messi will be well enough to play against Monterrey on Wednesday in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinal. Messi was ruled out of Inter Miami’s match against New York City FC on Saturday.

Due to a hamstring problem, Messi has missed the last four games. He has also missed two MLS matches with Inter Miami and both of Argentina’s friendlies during the international break.

Due to injury sustained on March 14, the Argentine star will not be ready for Saturday’s MLS game at Chase Stadium.

On Friday, assistant coach Javeier Morales told reporters, “Leo is working with the physios.” “He is not available for tomorrow; we will be attempting to maximize his chances of playing at home against Monterrey on Wednesday of next week.”

Miami defeated D.C. United on March 16 in the nation’s capital despite Messi’s injury. A week later, Miami lost badly 4-0 at the New York Red Bulls.

With a 3W-1D-2L record, Miami is presently ranked second in the Eastern Conference table.

Miami will put itself to the test against Monterrey, as they have only played a Liga MX team once since Messi’s arrival. That occurred during Messi’s League Cup debut in July, when he defeated Cruz Azul with a last-second free kick.

The Herons’ next opponent in Monterrey will be tough because Los Rayados are now leading the Liga MX standings.
