SUDDEN-Injury update on Gabriel, Saka and Martinelli

The Brazilian center-back was unable to participate in his country’s friendly matches against England and Spain due to his withdrawal from the Selecao squad. Similarly, Bukayo was also unavailable for Gareth Southgate’s team as he reported for duty with the Three Lions while nursing an injury.

Meanwhile, Martinelli was absent from our recent matches against Brentford and Porto due to a foot injury he suffered at Sheffield United earlier this month. This injury also prevented him from participating in national duty.

When asked about the trio’s fitness for the trip to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Mikel acknowledged that he will make the decision at the very last moment.

Regarding the possibility of any of them being included, he stated: “There is a possibility.” They have not undergone training, but we have another session scheduled for tomorrow, so there is a possibility that they may be able to participate.

Mikel received positive updates during the break as Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey improved their physical condition in a private match at Queens Park Rangers. The only remaining concern is Jurrien Timber, who is still recovering from an ACL injury he suffered in our first league game against Nottingham Forest.
