As Tonda Eckert’s team gets ready to fend off competition elsewhere for one of the most sought-after players in the EFL ahead of the 2026–2027 season, Southampton is getting close to signing their fourth player of the summer transfer window.
Lewis Dobbin, a dynamic winger who was in high demand during this summer’s transfer window after making an impression while on loan at Preston North End, has reached an agreement with the Saints to sign him from Aston Villa.
According to a recent update from Jacob Tanswell of The Athletic, the Saints are expected to sign Dobbin for £9 million after he was previously linked to several second-tier teams, including Wolves.
In order to seal his move to the south coast, the 23-year-old will undergo medical procedures today before signing with Southampton.
