Six Liverpool players at risk of missing out on Premier League winner’s medal including player who won’t feature again this season

There is a possibility that Federico Chiesa, along with several of his Liverpool teammates, including Tyler Morton and James McConnell, will not be awarded an automatic winner’s medal for the Premier League.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister scored the goals that sealed Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Newcastle on Wednesday. This victory brought Liverpool one step closer to winning the Premier League title.

Arne Slot’s team is currently in first place in the 2024–25 season, with ten games left to play. They are currently 13 points ahead of Arsenal, who are in second place.

Despite the fact that the majority of Liverpool’s squad has already qualified to receive a Premier League winner’s medal after making five appearances, there are a few players who are in danger of missing out on the opportunity, including Federico Chiesa himself.

The fact that Chiesa has only participated in three league matches so far this season [against Bournemouth, Brentford, and Ipswich] indicates that he is two games away from qualifying for the National Football League. Chiesa joined the Reds from Juventus in the summer for a reported sum of £12.5 million.

Another player who is likely to be left out of the lineup is Vitezslav Jaros, the custodian for the reserve team. Jaros has only played once, and that was in October, when he made his debut in the Premier League and playing for Liverpool. The game was a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

While Jayden Danns will not be able to qualify for a medal because he is currently on loan at Sunderland, Tyler Morton, Trey Nyoni, and James McConnell have not yet been featured in appearances, despite the fact that they have performed exceptionally well in cup competitions.

There are four more appearances that Danns needs to make before he can collect any awards, but in the end, the forward, who is 19 years old, might be awarded a medal.

One hundred forty commemorative silver medals with a diameter of 2.25 inches (5.7 cm) are presented to the champions of the Premier League, as stated on the website of the Premier League.

The club has the ability to distribute them in any manner it deems appropriate, including to the manager, players, and officials, provided that each player who participated in at least five Premier League matches during the season in which the team won the championship receives one.

Additional medals can only be awarded with the approval of the Premier League Board, and this approval will only be granted if more than 39 players have participated in at least five league matches during the course of the season.

On the eighth of March, Liverpool will play their next league game, which will be against Southampton.
