The Saudi Pro League team conceded two more goals to make up a 1-0 deficit before Abdulrahman Ghareeb tied the score close to the end of the first half. After goals from Alex Telles and Khalid Eisa gave Al-Nassr an equalizer in the second half, the game took a dramatic turn. Sultan Al-Shamsi gave the UAE club their lead back overall in the 103rd minute, but Cristiano Ronaldo’s game-winning penalty kick conversion in the final minute meant that the match would go to a shootout. Crespo’s team advanced to the semifinals by winning the game 3-1 in the penalty shootout.
