Ruben Amorim breaks silence on Alejandro Garnacho’s decision to walk straight down the tunnel during Man Utd vs Ipswich

After Alejandro Garnacho walked straight down the tunnel during Wednesday’s Premier League match against Ipswich Town, the head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, has stated that he will take action.

A studs-up challenge on Omari Hutchinson resulted in the dismissal of January signing Patrick Dorgu with two minutes remaining in the first half of the match.

It was a moment that compelled Amorim to make a change in the lineup, with Garnacho being replaced by Noussair Mazraoui. This occurred as United attempted to defend their already precarious 2-1 lead against the team led by Kieran McKenna.

Garnacho, on the other hand, was clearly irritated by the decision, and a few seconds later, he walked straight down the tunnel that leads to Old Trafford.

In point of fact, after the full-time whistle blew, the Argentine took to social media to seemingly express his dissatisfaction with being replaced. He posted an image of himself on his Instagram story that appeared to be in a state of disbelief.

Amorim, in the course of his duties as a media representative following the match, mentioned Garnacho’s decision to take a direct route down the tunnel.

“You could say that it was chilly and wet,” he said. It was anticipated that we would play more in the 5-3-1 formation. Even though I am aware that this is a risk because you are possibly the only player who has one against one pace, I had the impression that the team was doing a good job of controlling the game, and it was almost time for halftime.

“After that, you will make the correction. Because we need to select someone to go out with, and because we also need to consider the set pieces, I decided to go out with them.

After that, the Portuguese coach was questioned about whether or not he was dissatisfied with Garnacho. To the surprise of some, he brought up Marcus Rashford, who had just recently joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season.

Do you believe that you are establishing a connection with Rashford? Then he continued, “I know, I know.”

I am going to talk about that with Garnacho, and if you want, I will talk about it during the next press conference. What I am saying is that I am going to talk about that very obviously.

Amorim defended Patrick Dorgu, who was partially to blame for Ipswich’s opening goal as a result of a misunderstanding with custodian Andre Onana. In addition to discussing his decision to replace Garnacho, Amorim also defended Dorgu.

“Everyone who watched that ball was thinking, ‘Here we go again,'” Amorim said. “However, there are times when football is like that, and we were able to fight through all of the situations that arose during the game, and we believe that we truly deserve the three points that we earned today.”

The first instance was a misunderstanding regarding the manner in which they are connected to one another.

“Then there is the parting, and the most important thing is that I am very familiar with Dorgu. He has no intention of causing harm to anyone, and I find that to be very important.

“Then you are faced with this circumstance. Then, during the game, you get the impression that he was making a lot of runs, trying to win every ball, and being aggressive. Sometimes you overdo it, and he has these problems today. He made that mistake.
