Roy Keane Responds to James Maddison Hitting Back at Him With Goal Celebration

James Maddison of Tottenham Hotspur seemed to be celebrating a goal at Roy Keane, so Keane gave him a harsh reaction. In the past, the former Manchester United player said bad things about the midfielder and asked if he was good enough to be an important player for Ange Postecoglou’s team. He said the following about Maddison:

“Wait a minute. When we saw Maddison at Tamworth, he had been taken away. Tamworth is not in a league. “Maddison is the man,” people say. When is he going to do something? He was sent down with Leicester and is about to be sent down with Spurs!”

Soon after making the statements, Maddison scored the only goal in a 1-0 Premier League win over United. He then quickly sent a message to the commentator.

He ran over to the camera and put his finger to his lips to tell someone to be quiet. Most people thought the move was meant for the Irishman. Now, Keane has responded, and on an episode of the Stick to Football podcast, Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, and Ian Wright were laughing out loud.

Keane Had a Dig at Maddison Being Dropped After

He commented on the fact he was dropped from the starting lineup against Ipswich

In the most recent episode of Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast, the incident with Maddison and his shot at Keane was talked about. At first, it seemed like the former midfielder admired Maddison for it. At the moment, he liked the Tottenham player and said he wanted to see more of that. He seemed to mean what he said, but it wasn’t long before he made fun of Maddison by bringing up his next game against Ipswich Town and the fact that he was on the bench.

“Good for him. Of course. Not a problem. I still agree with what I said: I believe he does not do enough of that. But I was at home with my tea when he scored. I told him, “Good job.”

“When people make fun of you, you respond. I thought he would do the same thing the other day, but he switched roles against Ipswich.

He made jokes that made the rest of the Stick to Football team laugh out loud, and then he mimicked Maddison’s famous goal celebration to make things worse. Keane at its best.

Maddison scored against United, but Spurs put him on the bench for their next game against Ipswich. Postecoglou’s team beat the Tractor Boys 4-1, and while the attacking player didn’t score and get to use his celebration again, he did set up a goal, so that’s something.
