Norwich City are set to miss out on recruiting Joseph Ntege and Jubilee Ntege to Nottingham Forest.

According to the Daily Mail, the two former Reading twins are set to join the Premier League club, despite interest from Norwich City.

The brothers were raised in Sweden before moving to England, where they finally joined the Royals’ academy system.

The League One club fended off interest from a number of clubs to get them into their youth squads, but they were unable to retain them heading into the summer.

At this point in their careers, the two young players have yet to make a first-team appearance, but they will be hoping to advance to senior football soon.

The two 16-year-olds have both received notice for their goal-scoring performances at the underage level, which led to their promotion to the U18s last season.

Joseph totalled 35 goals and assists, including 12 for the U18s, while Jubilee contributed 33 goals, including 10 at the U18 level.

Nottingham Forest are believed to have won the race for the two Ntege siblings’ signings.

Norwich were among the clubs looking to capture the two young players after they left Reading earlier this summer.

Joseph’s talents on the left wing drew the attention of Newcastle United and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Jubilee was coveted by Augsburg, Genk, and the Canaries, but both will relocate to the City Ground.

This comes as a shock to the Norfolk club, which is trying to strengthen their academy squads as part of a long-term strategy to develop the first team.

While neither player is likely to have made an impact for Philippe Clement’s club this season, they both have the potential to break into his first team in the future.

Norwich has until September 1 to complete any more deals before the market closes, having missed out on signing the Ntege twins.
