Morgan Whittaker’s weekly wage at Middlesbrough has been revealed, alongside the latest on his potential exit.

looks at how much Morgan Whittaker gets per week at Middlesbrough, as the truth about his impending exit emerges.

According to reports in Turkey, Trabzonspor expressed great interest in luring the 25-year-old away from Teesside this summer, after he scored 14 goals and assisted seven times in the Championship last season.

The Derby-born forward, who signed for Borough from Plymouth Argyle for a record £5 million in January 2025, is one of the most dangerous attackers outside the Premier League.

How do Middlesbrough feel about selling Morgan Whittaker to Trabzonspor?

According to the Northern Echo, Trabzonspor has made no formal bid and any interest is still in its early stages.

Middlesbrough’s asking price is significantly higher than Trabzonspor’s club record of about £7.5 million, making a transaction impossible.

Whittaker signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Riverside when he completed his aforementioned move from Argyle, binding him to the club until June 2029.

When he signed the contract, he expressed his joy to BBC Radio Tees, saying, “I’m very clear what I want and need next for my career, and a team like Middlesbrough is perfect for me.”

Eighteen months later, the observation remains valid, as there is no evidence that rumours of a Turkish changeover is more than idle speculation.

Transfer speculation involving players of Whittaker’s calibre is unavoidable, and it is always prudent to treat reports from Turkish media with caution until they are confirmed by more reliable sources.

Morgan Whittaker’s wage at Middlesbrough compared to the 25/26 Trabzonspor team.

According to Capology estimations, Morgan Whittaker earns around £25k per week at Middlesbrough, which equals to almost £1.3 million per year.

Those figures reflect a significant increase from his tenure at Argyle, where he earned an estimated £7.5k per week.

To put Whittaker’s estimated wage in context within Trabzonspor’s own squad structure, this season’s Capology data shows Stefan Savic as the Turkish club’s biggest earner, earning little more than £66,000 per week.

So Whittaker, at £25,000 a week, would not be at the top of Trabzonspor’s reported payroll. He would be ranked about tenth, behind former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Okay Yokuslu, who earns little more than £28k per week.

Despite the wingers’ wages being significantly lower than Savic’s, the alleged transfer fee asked by Borough alone would be unprecedented for the Turkish club in the transfer market.

It is unclear how much the Championship club values Whittaker, but The Telegraph says that his teammate Hayden Hackney will command at least £10 million, a number that many fans believe is far too low.

You would assume Steve Gibson would want far more than £10 million apiece.
