Manchester United is getting ready to play Brighton in their last Premier League match of the year.

On Sunday afternoon, Erik ten Hag’s team will travel to the south coast in the hopes of maintaining their hopes of playing in Europe.

Before this match, the Red Devils have good news: the team has confirmed that Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, and Victor Lindelof have resumed team training.

Following their introduction as substitutes in this week’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle United, Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford were also observed putting the trio through their paces on Friday.

As a result, defense changes are probably in store, with Jonny Evans moving to the bench and Casemiro being released from his interim center-back position. Varane and Martinez will enter the game, and Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will fill the full-back positions.

After playing in the midweek victory, Sofyan Amrabat and Kobbie Mainoo can maintain their defensive midfield positions, keeping Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen out of the starting eleven.

After being removed from the game late in the match, there were doubts about Bruno Fernandes’ fitness for this weekend. However, Ten Hag has confirmed the Portuguese star will play. “Bruno is fit and didn’t miss much,” the United manager remarked. If he can continue, I would say that is one of my least worries. He’s new and in excellent form, but it’s crucial [to get game time] for the others you mentioned. A few games were missed by them. Since Coventry, Rashford, but naturally, Licha Martinez missed nearly the entire season. We must thus give him every minute that he is able to have.”

Alejandro Garnacho is expected to play again in the future, and Amad deserves another start after making an impression at Old Trafford. After a lengthy absence, Anthony Martial is back in first team training, though he might only play a cameo role. Rashford can be used as a stand-in for Rasmus Hojlund when he returns to the starting lineup.

Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Wan-Bissaka; Amrabat, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Amad; Hojlund were Manchester United’s projected starting lineup against Brighton.
