Manchester United

Manchester United is highly interested and prepared to acquire Everton’s £30 million standout player this summer following an impressive performance at Old Trafford.

Jarrad Branthwaite, who is being pursued by Manchester United for a transfer, displayed an impressive performance during Everton’s 2-0 loss to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

Branthwaite assumed the position of left centre-back for the Toffees in their match against Man United. The 21-year-old was victorious in five out of six confrontations and executed two tackles.

He executed a forceful tackle on Kobbie Mainoo to prevent him from having a clear chance to score a goal. Although the offside flag was raised during the play, Branthwaite successfully fulfilled his role.

He committed a mistake towards the end of the game by fouling Marcus Rashford inside the penalty area, but he was fortunate that the offside flag prevented any consequences.

Branthwaite had a successful loan spell at PSV Eindhoven during the 2022/23 season and has performed really well for Everton this season.

It is widely known that Manchester United is eager to strengthen their defense during the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports, the Red Devils are now in the lead to secure the signing of the young player from Everton. However, they are facing strong competition from Real Madrid.

United’s defense has been seen as vulnerable this season due to injury issues. Lisandro Martinez has only made ten appearances as a result of a prolonged injury.

Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelof have also been injured and unable to play. Each of the four participants is confronted with an ambiguous and unpredictable future.

Acquiring Branthwaite would enhance the depth of United’s defensive choices, which is currently lacking. INEOS, the new co-owners, will likely be enthusiastic about making significant additions, and Branthwaite might potentially be one of their targets.

Nevertheless, they should exercise caution with Everton’s requested amount. Branthwaite is valued at €25 million according to Transfermarkt.com, although Everton may want a higher sum to approve the transfer.

United have consistently invested significant amounts of money on their top priorities during recent transfer periods. INEOS must reverse this pattern and restore the progress of recruitment.
