Liverpool: Ruben Amorim issues statement after ‘agreeing three-year manager contract’

In response to rumors that he has agreed to a transfer to Anfield, Ruben Amorim—a target of Liverpool’s managerial pursuits—has made a strong statement about his future.

The head coach of Sporting is widely considered the favorite to replace Jurgen Klopp, who ended a trophy-laden tenure with the Reds earlier this season.

With a first-season victory and a shot at a repeat this season, the 39-year-old has made quite an impression in Portugal.

In light of German reports that a three-year deal with Liverpool is nearing completion, Amorim—who has previously said he could leave Sporting this summer—has demanded an end to the rumors.

“I did not meet with Liverpool for any interview and there is no agreement, it’s not true,” he stated plainly.

Despite not having met any clubs, I am the manager of Sporting and I want to win this match. No agreement has been reached. This tale needs to end. For the time being, I will not discuss my plans for the future.
