Jurrien Timber is not included in the Arsenal lineup for their Emirates Stadium Premier League matchup against Bournemouth.

The Dutch international has returned to action for the under-21s in recent weeks after suffering an ACL injury. Before the game, during his pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta acknowledged that he might make his first team debut after August.

The Spaniard stated at his pre-game press conference, “Yes, everybody is fit and available, so now it’s the headache to make the right selection.”

Before we put him in there, we won’t be able to tell if he’s ready. The situation presents a challenge because there are just three games remaining and he has only played 115 minutes of football with the Under-21s. The only way to settle this is to put him on the field and watch what transpires; we must strive to make the right decision when [we take it].”

Sadly, Timber is not included in the team as Arsenal looks to increase their lead in the Premier League standings. It’s evidence of the abundance of players Arteta has at his disposal right now and maybe a hint that he doesn’t want to take any chances with the defender right now.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior are Arteta’s reserve defensive options. His team remains unaltered in the starting lineup. Takehiro Tomiyasu thus maintains his position as the left back.

Arsenal starting lineup: Raya; Saka, Havertz, Trossard; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; White, Saliba, Gabriel, and Tomiyasu.

Ramsdale, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Nketiah, Jesus, and Fabio Vieira are the substitutes.
