Jeff Stelling has lambasted Swansea City and Wrexham’s derby match on Saturday night.
The two teams drew 0-0 in front of a crowd of slightly more than 20,000 at the Swansea dot com Stadium.
There were 14 shots between the two teams, with only four on target, with Vitor Matos’ side controlling 62% of possession (all numbers from Fotmob).
Swansea created 0.74 anticipated goals (xG), while Phil Parkinson’s team managed only 0.67 in a game with few high-quality chances.
Zan Vipotnik had the best chance of the evening in the latter moments, but he failed to score.
It meant that the two teams split the points in the Championship’s key Saturday evening showdown of the weekend.

Jeff Stelling criticises Swansea vs Wrexham.
Stelling remarked that the match between Swansea and Wrexham was almost his worst of the weekend, blaming both teams for squandering two hours of his Saturday that he will never get back.
He quipped that it reminded him of the Elton John song ‘Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting,’ but with a completely different title to emphasise how boring the game was.
“This is going to be the stinker of the week in a moment,” Stelling told Talksport.
“This could have been Swansea against Wrexham at eight o’clock on Saturday night.
“What was Elton John’s song called? Oh, ‘Saturday night’s alright for boring the pants off folks’.
“It was appalling.”
“A Saturday night in my life that I will never get back.”
Swansea and Wrexham’s promotion prospects
Swansea moved one point clear at the top after a 0-0 draw with Wrexham on Saturday evening, with five teams tied on 10 points.
The Swans have won three and drawn two, for a total of 11 points out of a possible 15, and are currently one of only two clubs to remain unbeaten after five games.
Matos’ team finished 11th in the Championship table the previous season, nine points outside of the play-offs.
However, the excellent start to the new term has given supporters plenty of reason to be enthusiastic about the year ahead.
Meanwhile, Wrexham sit 11th after drawing away to their Welsh rivals, with six points from five games.
Parkinson’s side has only won once, drawn three times, and lost once this season as they seek promotion.
In 2025/26, the Red Dragons finished seventh, barely two points behind sixth-placed Hull City.
Swansea travel to Southampton this evening for a 7.45pm kickoff, whilst Wrexham host Burnley.
Swansea and Wrexham have earned a point that benefits both clubs.
Obviously, both Swansea and Wrexham would have loved to win, but at this point in the season, they will most likely be content with a draw.
It was clearly not the most enjoyable game of the weekend, and its billing as the big 8 p.m. game on TV meant it had a certain expectation to meet, which they failed to do.
However, neither manager nor squad will be concerned about that at the moment, as they will be glad to have emerged from the game with something.
This will not be a game we remember after the season ends, and Wrexham may be the happier of the two sides given they were away from home and did not have as many chances as the hosts.
