Millwall are looking to bolster their striker options after a solid Championship season but ultimately failing to join the Premier League.
The Lions were still in contention for promotion on the final day of the regular season, defeating Oxford United 2-0 thanks to Femi Azeez’s brace.
However, Ipswich Town also won on May 2, therefore Alex Neil’s side had to settle for third place rather than immediate promotion.
Despite finishing first in the Championship table, Millwall were defeated 2-0 at The Den by eventual champions Hull City in the play-offs.
Mihailo Ivanovic should be concerned as Millwall plan a bid for Scotland striker.

Mihailo Ivanovic had a reasonable effect for Millwall in the Championship this season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 44 second-tier games.
However, the 21-year-old was the understudy to fellow striker Josh Coburn in both of the Lions’ play-off matches against Hull, demonstrating that the former Middlesbrough player is ahead of Ivanovic in Neil’s pecking order.
Coburn scored at a higher rate than the Serbia international, with nine goals in his 26 Championship games.
Meanwhile, according to Ben Jacobs on X, Millwall and Leicester City have both expressed interest in signing Lyndon Dykes as a free agent after his loan spell with Charlton Athletic.
According to Jacobs’ story, the Addicks have also offered him a permanent position at The Valley.
Dykes scored three goals and assisted three others while on loan at Charlton from his previous parent club, Birmingham City, to help Nathan Jones’ team stay in the Championship.
His final goal for the Addicks occurred on Good Friday, when the South London club was defeated 2-1 by Bristol City.
If Millwall acquire another striker, Ivanovic will be concerned, since he has already missed out on playing time in critical games due to Coburn’s presence.
Furthermore, Dykes’ aggressiveness and hold-up play suggest that he is more like to Coburn, which are certainly characteristics that Neil values.
Furthermore, the former Birmingham player is from Scotland, the same country as Lions manager Neil, who will certainly keep a close eye on his international accomplishments, especially this summer’s World Cup.
Lyndon Dykes may prefer a move to Millwall over Leicester City or Charlton Athletic.

Dykes has never been a particularly productive scorer, and he hasn’t reached double figures since netting 12 goals in all competitions for Queens Park Rangers in 2020/21.
However, his strong leadership style, along with his experience, would make him an excellent asset for Millwall, who are aiming for promotion after a close call this season.
Furthermore, the Scotland international is yet to play for a Championship side with significant promotion credentials, like the Lions have.
Millwall may face an uphill battle to keep star player Femi Azeez this summer, but other skilled strikers such as Camiel Neghli could assist get the most out of Dykes.
If the Lions make a play for the 30-year-old, it will be terrible news for Ivanovic, who is already less trusted than Coburn in the Den’s biggest games.
