Former Leicester City boss has been sacked, with the club releasing an statement

Cooper joined the Danish club on a three-year contract in September, however his contract was terminated a day after their season’s last match, after leading them to fourth place in the league.

Alan Tate, Cooper’s assistant while at the King Power Stadium, has also left Brondby.

“With the appointment of Steve, we made a choice that we both believed and hoped would lift the club to a new level,” stated Scott McLachlan, vice chairman of the Brondby IF board. It has done so in numerous ways, but neither the results nor the performances on the field have followed suit.

“Therefore, today we have chosen to say goodbye to both Steve and Alan.”We send them off with tremendous respect and gratitude for their efforts and dedication to the club.”

Brondby also confirmed the appointment of a new football director, Julius Ohnesorge, who stated, “Brondby IF must stand for something definite. A team, a culture, and a direction that all fans can relate to and be proud of.

“We haven’t been consistent enough to show that recently. Especially during a hard time for the club.”We’ve decided to start a new chapter at Brondby IF by reconnecting with the foundation and shoulders that support us.Now, new energy and leadership are needed to strengthen the club’s identity and support its ongoing athletic development and objectives.”
