Everton have launched an approach for Sevilla winger Juanlu Sanchez, who has been on Real Madrid’s radar after a stellar season, according to Spanish site Mundo Deportivo.
David Moyes has managed a stunning turnaround since taking over for Sean Dyche in early January, leading his team to four victories and one defeat in six Premier League games. They surpassed Manchester United to 14th place this weekend and will likely be eager to advance further up the table in the 2025-26 campaign.
The Toffees now have the financial strength of new owners, The Friedkin Group, to assist Moyes assemble a squad capable of kicking off their new era when they move to their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium next season. Carlos Alcaraz, an Argentine midfielder on loan from Brazilian club Flamengo, was the only arrival during the January transfer window.
Everton vying for Sanchez, Sevilla’s star player.
The Toffees are one of several European heavyweights looking at the Spanish attacker.
Everton have approached Sevilla about signing Sanchez, one of Spanish football’s most promising young talents. This says volumes about the club’s new owners’ plans, as they compete with Madrid, RB Leipzig, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Galatasaray for the 21-year-old, who is extremely versatile.
Everton wanted to sign a new winger during the winter transfer window, but a deal for Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah fell through. They appear to have turned to Sanchez, who has received wonderful praises at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium for his bravery, adaptability, and excellent dribbling abilities, following a breakout 2023-24 season.
Sanchez is mostly a right-winger, but he has also played right-back, central midfield, and offensive midfield, and Sevilla is negotiating a contract extension with the five-cap Spain U21 international.
