With uncertainty surrounding his future at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag of Manchester United has surfaced as a possible target for Bayern Munich’s search for a new manager.

Bayern Munich has made Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, their managerial target.

After a disappointing season in which United failed to qualify for the Champions League, Ten Hag’s job at Old Trafford is in jeopardy. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the club’s new co-owner, has declined to publicly support the Dutchman.

In the meantime, Thomas Tuchel’s departure from Bayern at the end of the season was announced in February, prompting the team to start looking for a new manager. His departure follows Bayern’s first Bundesliga loss in twelve years, as Xabi Alonso led Bayer Leverkusen to their first-ever victory.

Additionally, Ten Hag is one of four managers on Bild’s shortlist. If Tuchel decides to leave United, Max Eberl, the sporting director of Bayern, is weighing up his options to take over for the former Ajax manager.

Roger Schmidt of Benfica, Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton, and former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui are also on the shortlist. “We’re going to speak with Tony [Bloom, Brighton’s owner],” De Zerbi said to Sky Sports, reiterating his desire to stay at Brighton.

I think that because I adore my players, I would prefer to remain in Brighton. This city is my favorite. I adore my fans and my club. In the fan meeting, I stated that if I’m happy, no club can convince me to switch teams, but I want to always be passionate about what I do.”

After Ralf Rangnick turned them down to concentrate on his work with Austria ahead of Euro 2024, Bayern was forced to look elsewhere. Rangnick promised Austria would “do everything we can to get as far as possible” in a statement.

With all of my heart, the former Manchester United manager declared, “I’m the Austrian team coach.” “I am determined to successfully continue on our chosen path because I truly enjoy this task.

“I want to be very clear that this is a decision for my team and our shared objectives, not a rejection of Bayern. We are focusing exclusively on the Euros. We’ll exert every effort to travel as far as we can.
