Liverpool have ‘already done’ contact to sign £85.2m defender and club agrees to sell – Report

Liverpool is among the teams eager to sign Antonio Silva, a highly sought-after player on the market, in order to bolster their defense.

According to a Correio da Manha report (see news image below), Benfica “agrees to sell” their valuable asset this summer, but only under certain restrictions.

News: A star ready to agree to move to Liverpool for £50,000 a week

The well-known Portuguese media outlet reported that Silva’s services have been pursued by Liverpool, Manchester United, and most recently, Arsenal.

While Liverpool has “already done,” the Gunners are the most recent Premier League team to express interest in the central defender.

Even the French and Spanish champions, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, are reportedly interested in luring the Seleccao star.

Silva, though, would much rather move to the Premier League, where Arsenal is vying with United and Liverpool to complete the deal.

Benfica has informed potential buyers that they are prepared to sell the 20-year-old player for the agreed-upon price of 100 million euros, or £85.2 million.

In the previous season, the young player started 29 games in the Primeira Liga, contributing to the Eagles’ 15 clean sheet total.

He is included in the squad for the European Championships and has already made nine appearances for Portugal’s senior team.

The Reds had to find a long-term replacement for Van Dijk, who they signed for a fee of £75 million in 2018.

Do you think Liverpool should offer £85.2 million to sign Antonio Silva?
