Chances of Tottenham signing Chelsea stalwart revealed; Pochettino fuming with Blues’ decision

Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t want to sell Chelsea star Conor Gallagher to Tottenham

Tottenham intends to support Ange Postecoglou in his efforts to assemble a successful team, so they could have one of their busiest summers in recent memory.

According to TEAMtalk sources, Spurs have already determined who their top targets are for the upcoming transfer window and have set aside a “significant amount” of money for it.

Conor Gallagher, a midfielder for Chelsea, has been on Postecoglou’s shortlist for a while, and rumour has it that Tottenham has “confidence is high” that they can sign him.

The English player is thought to be a fantastic fit for Postecoglou’s high-intensity system, and club officials think the Australian coach would bring out the best in him.

Despite his passion for the team he grew up playing for, TEAMtalk can confirm that there is a genuine belief Gallagher would be willing to join Chelsea’s London rivals.

While Chelsea is mired in ninth place in the Premier League standings, he is reportedly thrilled with the direction Spurs are going.

Possible Chelsea sale upsetting things behind the scenes
As was previously mentioned, Gallagher and Chelsea have been negotiating a contract extension for a number of months, but as of right now, no deal has been reached.

The Blues have not yet presented the center-mid with a formal contract offer.

With his current contract scheduled to expire in 2025, the 24-year-old is viewed as one of the Blues’ “most sellable assets” by board members.

In order to adhere to the profit and sustainability regulations set forth by the Premier League, Chelsea will have to part ways with a number of players in the upcoming weeks and months.

One of the main points of contention within the team is Gallagher’s possible departure. Mauricio Pochettino is urging to hold onto the center midfielder because he has been essential to his squad this season, as we have previously disclosed.

Chelsea’s executives disagree with Pochettino on this point because they believe his “pure profit” status will allow them to pay for the acquisition of new talent.

Many Chelsea players have been forced to think about their options due to the disruption behind the scenes, and several celebrities may follow Gallagher out the exit door.

Chelsea hopes to make £50 million from Gallagher’s sale, but TEAMtalk sources have mocked that amount, saying they’ll be lucky to get it. They are unlikely to receive that fee because Gallagher only has one year left on his contract.

Tottenham is prepared to act, though, and it will be interesting to watch how much money they are prepared to part with for Postecoglou’s top target.
