Following remarks made by the midfield player and rumors that he won’t be guaranteed a spot at Old Trafford for the upcoming campaign, questions were raised about Bruno Fernandes’ future at Manchester United.

In the midst of speculation about Bruno Fernandes’ future at Old Trafford, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has showered the Portugal international with praise.

Despite United’s struggles, Fernandes has excelled, and his six goals in five Premier League games have put the Red Devils in a strong position to finish sixth. In recent seasons, the club captain has distinguished himself as one of United’s rare transfer successes.

Ten Hag praised Fernandes’ contributions as captain and the role model he provides behind the scenes. Fernandes has, in the Dutch manager’s opinion, become better throughout 2023–2024.

“He is our captain and he works during the off season, so hard on the training ground, and he brings the energy in every game,” Ten Hag stated. “He leads by example as the team’s captain on every occasion, and you can see his form improving as the season goes on.

By the end of the campaign, he is playing well, netting goals and providing crucial assists.

“His performances have truly impressed me; he not only adds to the team spirit but also shines on his own with his creativity. With his performances, I am pleased.”

The news that Manchester United’s management would be accommodating in the transfer market put the midfielder’s future under scrutiny. With the exception of Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, and Kobbie Mainoo, who are reportedly not available, it is reported that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and company will entertain offers for their stars should they be of sufficient value.

Fernandes was asked about his future at that point. The 29-year-old acknowledged that a move out of the Premier League could only be discussed after the European Championships, but he feels that both parties expect him to stay at the club.

“At this time, I’m not considering other things. He said to DAZN Portugal, “Obviously, it doesn’t just depend on me, does it?” “A player must always want to be here, but you must also want him to stay.” I think there’s that right now on both sides.”

“So, if you want me to be very honest,” he stated, “If I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won’t be until after the Euros because nothing will be able to take my focus away from the FA Cup final and the Euros, as there’s nothing more important than that at the moment.”
