As Chelsea gets ready for the 2024–2025 season, they are getting closer to naming Enzo Maresca as their new head coach.

The Italian is moving from Leicester City to Stamford Bridge, where he will sign a five-year deal with a one-year option. After the Argentine left by mutual consent, he takes over as manager in place of Mauricio Pochettino.

Even though Maresca’s appointment has not yet been officially confirmed, he will already be considering his schedule for the upcoming season. Tosin Adarabioyo, who is expected to sign for Chelsea on a free transfer, appears to be getting closer to becoming their first summer addition.

There have been a lot of reports and discussions about Chelsea over the past 24 hours amid all the commotion surrounding the transfer window and the new manager. In light of this, football.london has examined some of the most recent and provided our own viewpoint.

The Guardian reports that Enzo Maresca’s first assignment as Chelsea’s head coach will be to “lift the mood” of the team. According to the report, some senior players are doubting the “club’s direction” after Mauricio Pochettino left.

Chelsea had an amazing run toward the end of the season after a dismal first half of the league, ultimately finishing in sixth place and earning a trip to Europe. The majority of the Chelsea team reportedly enjoyed working with Pochettino and was disappointed to see the Argentinean let go.

According to the report, the players were “shocked” by the departure, and some of them had become restless due to the frequent changes.

football.london states: Although many had Chelsea target Enzo Maresca as their summer manager, he has shown in his brief tenure at Leicester that he is capable of turning around squads. Following their downgrade to the Championship, he took over a team that was dissatisfied and lacking direction.

He later disclosed that after working under the Italian for a few weeks, a number of Leicester players who had initially intended to leave decided to stay. In terms of his man management, Chelsea can only hope for the best.

Chelsea trails in the Olise race.

According to ESPN, the Blues are lagging behind Manchester United in the competition for Crystal Palace star Michael Olise. According to the report, the Red Devils have made the 22-year-old their top target this summer and aren’t letting the inability to play Champions League football stop them.

Since the talks are reportedly not at an advanced stage, Chelsea is still free to move if they so choose. Although Olise’s release clause was allegedly activated by the Blues last summer, the player chose not to sign with them.
