Declaring he “feels he has more to do” with Arsenal, Jorginho inked a new short-term deal with the team.

On the day of the January 2023 transfer deadline, the Italian international joined from Chelsea for a possible £12 million transfer fee. Jorginho was an unpopular addition at first, but after making 51 appearances, he established himself as an important part of Mikel Arteta’s team.

“I’m really, really happy to stay, because it’s a privilege to be a part of this family,” said the Italian. “My family and I are content and settled, but I still feel like there is more work for me to do.”

“I think it’s been really beneficial because I immediately felt like a part of something significant. how involved I felt and how content I felt overall. Since things aren’t always that way, it’s significant when you experience something similar.”

Jorginho’s original deal was set to expire this summer because Arsenal declined to exercise their option to activate a one-year extension. The Gunners, on the other hand, were eager to pay the Italian and put up a new contract that would have reflected his current position at the team.

Arsenal has benefited greatly from Jorginho’s experience as they aim to win the Premier League for the first time in twenty years. The Italian has been Arteta’s go-to player in crucial games, like their 3-1 victory over Liverpool in February.

Regarding his leadership role in Arsenal’s youthful squad, the 32-year-old stated, “I try to give everything I can of myself, to everyone around.” “That can be a hug, a conversation, or even just showing them something at times. Thus, in every circumstance, I just try to be as helpful as I can. I think I’m reliable for everyone here. I’ll be there for them no matter what.”

On Sunday, when Arsenal plays Manchester United at Old Trafford, Jorginho is probably going to play. Even if they triumph, Manchester City, who are one point behind the Gunners in the standings but still have a game in hand, is still the clear favorite. Jorginho believes the season has gone well for the Gunners, regardless of what occurs over the next few weeks.

“I’d say that we are enjoying it because it’s a beautiful journey,” he stated. We’ve been experiencing a unique moment, so I believe we should seize it and savor it each and every day.

“We put in a lot of work to get to where we are. Really, really! We should be proud of what we’ve been doing because we accomplished so much. We must believe in and have faith in what we’re doing.”

“We’re delighted that Jorgi has signed a new contract with us,” stated Arteta, the manager of Arsenal. Jorgi is a vital member of our team who exemplifies leadership qualities and a distinct style of play that enhances everyone around him on the field. We’re thrilled that Jorgi and his family have chosen to work with us, and we can’t wait to go on this adventure together.”

“We’re very happy to have Jorgi sign a contract extension with us,” stated Edu, the sporting director. His success and professionalism serve as a testament to what we at Arsenal stand for. The news that Jorgi will be sticking with us will no doubt make everyone at the club, coaches and players alike as well as the backroom crew, very happy. It’s fantastic that Jorginho is still with us as we work to improve and grow.”
