Mauricio Pochettino has spoken out about his unexpected departure from Chelsea.
After spending just one season at the West London club, the Argentine left Stamford Bridge. The Blues will play in Europe next season after finishing sixth in the Premier League.
Under Pochettino, Chelsea advanced to two more cup finals—the FA Cup and the League Cup—but lost both.
And now, in a stalemate made public on the team website, he has finally spoken out about his decision to leave the club.
“I appreciate the chance to be a part of this football team’s history, and I thank the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Directors for that. In the upcoming years, the Club is now in a strong position to continue progressing in both the Premier League and Europe,” he stated.
