The human bones discovered near the Manchester United training academy have been identified as belonging to a male individual in his forties.
An inquiry into a homicide has been initiated following the discovery of a body part, which was found wrapped in plastic, in a wooded area near Salford on Thursday.

The police have confirmed that the human remains found near Manchester United’s training campus, which were wrapped in plastic, belong to a male individual in his forties.
An inquiry into a homicide was initiated following the discovery of a human body part in the forested area of Kersal Dale, Salford, on Thursday afternoon by a civilian.
Authorities have confirmed that the deceased individual is a male over the age of 40, and his body had been lifeless for several days. Genetic tests are being conducted to ascertain his identity.
The vicinity near The Cliff facility, where Manchester United previously conducted training and currently houses their academy, was cordoned off following a police notification.
A forensic pathologist who was summoned to the location verified that the remains were of human origin.
There have been no apprehensions.

Chief Superintendent Tony Creely, the district commander for Salford in the Greater Manchester Police, stated that this is a sorrowful investigation that is progressing rapidly. Through the use of forensic tests, we have determined that the victim is a male who had little chance of survival.
Central to our inquiry is this individual and his relatives. We are use all possible forensic methodologies to promptly ascertain his identity, in order to provide assistance to his family and loved ones during this profoundly distressing period.
“I express my gratitude to the general public for their cooperation over the past few days.” The presence of our police and expert teams has created disturbance in the local area, and this disruption may last for a while. However, we really appreciate any information they have been able to provide us with.

The revelation follows the initiation of a homicide inquiry in south London, subsequent to the unearthing of human remains in a public park located in Croydon.
