BREAKIN NEWS:Man Utd ‘settle on new sporting director’ as Newcastle dig heels in over Dan Ashworth

Manchester United have allegedly chosen Dan Ashworth as their new sporting director, even though they encountered difficulties in negotiating a compensation agreement with Newcastle United. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is resolute in his intention to incorporate Ashworth into his revamped sports framework at Old Trafford, albeit he may encounter a delay.

The Red Devils are experiencing substantial changes off the field following Ratcliffe’s acquisition of a £1.3 billion deal, which granted him a 27.7 percent ownership and authority over football operations in February.

Omar Berrada is set to assume the role of the club’s new chief executive this summer, transitioning from his current position at Manchester City. It is assumed that a sporting director, technical director, and performance director will be present.

Ashworth was appointed as the sporting director at Newcastle in June 2022 and held the job until February.

He was put on gardening leave after stating his intention to join Ratcliffe’s project at Old Trafford, which might potentially postpone his arrival until the following year.

The summer transfer window is a critical time at the beginning of the INEOS era. The absence of a sporting director has raised concerns about the possibility of United exploring other options.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is determined to proceed with their intention to pursue Ashworth and will not alter their intentions despite Newcastle’s resistance.
