Reports from Germany state that Bayern Munich believes Thomas Tuchel has already been lined up to replace Erik ten Hag. Thomas Tuchel has been linked to a move to Manchester United.
According to reports, Thomas Tuchel is set to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, so Bayern Munich believes he let talks about a new contract fall through.
When Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen dominated the Bundesliga and Bayern failed to win the title for the first time in twelve years, it was announced back in February that Tuchel would be leaving the team.
Then, it became known earlier in the month that Tuchel and Bayern were negotiating a new deal. Since then, Tuchel has disclosed that they “didn’t reach an agreement,” and Vincent Kompany, the manager of Burnley, is now set to take Tuchel’s place at the Allianz Arena.
Tuchel declared, “This is my last press conference,” prior to Bayern’s season-ending 4-2 loss to Hoffenheim. “There were talks, but we didn’t reach an agreement, so the decision of February still stands.”
Furthermore, Bild claims that Bayern are “convinced” Tuchel allowed those negotiations to fall through since he “already has the job at Manchester United secured.” It follows rumors that Ten Hag will be fired by United, regardless of the outcome of the FA Cup final.
However, Ten Hag asserts that Sir Jim Ratcliffe informed him that he wanted him to stay. Ten Hag stated, “They said they want to change everything and that they want to rebuild WITH me,” in an interview with the Dutch publication Vi.NL. This is what they directly informed me.”
“INEOS will change things in the club, and some projects have already started,” he continued. Carrington will be totally demolished, and a new training area will be built. In the summer, we must sign a second striker.
“And things will look good again if we can sign a replacement for (Raphael) Varane and another central midfielder. We can try to aim for the top 4 once more if the team stays healthy. We made the first steps toward building something last year, as planned, but you quickly discover that this club is enormous and that no one is ever happy.
“People were happy inside the club, but there was commotion outside when people said things like, ‘I only won the Carabao Cup, I lost the FA Cup Final, and I came in third.'” That means you’re not grounded in reality. The squads of other teams were far superior.”
