Arsenal

Arsenal’s chances of winning the title have been significantly diminished as Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirms that Ederson’s injury is serious.

Arsenal will enter the upcoming international break as the current leaders of the Premier League table, following a 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

Arsenal secured a 2-1 victory over Brentford at Emirates yesterday, but they were reliant on the outcome of the match between their championship contenders to be in their favor.

Arsenal now holds a higher position than Liverpool due to their superior goal difference, and they are leading Manchester City by one point.

Pep Guardiola’s team will face the North London club on March 31 following the break, and the Man City manager admitted that they experienced a significant injury setback against the Reds.

Ederson, the Brazilian national team goalkeeper, sustained an injury following a collision with Darwin Nunez, the striker for Liverpool, in the 47th minute. Despite attempting to continue playing, Ederson was substituted in the 56th minute and replaced by Stefan Ortega.

The potential absence of the Man City star for the Arsenal meeting is still uncertain, however, Guardiola considers it a significant setback.

“The Catalan expressed to beIN Sports that the severity of Ederson’s injury is not promising.”
