At Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Manchester United defeated Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final, increasing their record of FA Cup victories to 13, one fewer than Arsenal.

After Manchester United won the FA Cup, Arsenal posted a “embarrassing” video in which the team appeared to go full Partridge. The video has since been widely shared.

At Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Erik ten Hag masterfully led his team to a 2-1 victory over Manchester City, the defending FA Cup champions, shocking the football world.

With goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, City was condemned to their first defeat in a domestic final under manager Pep Guardiola.

Mainoo broke the record for youngest goal scorer since 1964, and Garnacho made history by becoming the first teenagers to score in an FA Cup final.

However, as United enjoyed their moment in the sun, Arsenal’s social media manager chose to shift attention back to the Gunners with a strangely timed reminder of their outstanding FA Cup exploits.

Arsenal posted the following on Twitter/X immediately following the Saturday full-time whistle: “We have a legacy in the FA Cup like no other team having lifted the trophy a record 14 times.” Are you able to identify the players who started each of our seven victories since 2000?

The social media community was quick to respond to the post and offer pertinent criticism, labeling the tweet as “embarrassing,” “cringe,” and “shameless” by a number of rival supporters.

After their victory on Saturday, United now has 13 FA Cup victories in their history—just one fewer than Arsenal’s record of 14. Ten Hag also won the trophy for the second time in two years, having guided United to Carabao Cup victory the previous year.

Ten Hag’s future at the team is still uncertain despite his two trophy hauls in two years, as reports indicate the team is actively looking for alternatives.
