A QPR player is attracting top-flight transfer interest as an exit from Loftus Road appears imminent.

Paul Nardi will determine his next destination this summer after his contract with Queens Park Rangers expires.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper made 17 Championship appearances for QPR this season, keeping only three clean sheets.

Julien Stephan’s side battled for consistency in the second tier this season, finishing 15th after a six-game winless streak near the conclusion of the season.

The West Londoners surrendered 73 league goals this season, more than any of their Championship rivals save Sheffield Wednesday, who finished worst in the league.

Ligue 1 side interested in Paul Nardi as goalkeeper poised to leave QPR

Nardi’s last game for the R’s did not go as planned, as he conceded three goals in a defeat to Derby County on April 25, his first since a 2-1 setback to Norwich City on New Year’s Day.

Meanwhile, Nardi is poised to leave QPR with fellow goalkeeper Ben Hamer and midfielder Isaac Hayden, whose contracts expire this summer.

Hamer made seven Championship appearances this season and maintained two clean sheets, although he has not played since a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in early January.

According to French outlet FootMercato, Toulouse is interested in signing Nardi on a free transfer.

According to the article, Troyes has also expressed interest in the 32-year-old, who recently won promotion back to the French top flight after finishing first in Ligue 2.

Nardi formerly played in France for Nancy, Monaco, Rennes, and Lorient before joining Belgian club Gent in 2022 for two years.

The former France Under-21 international joined QPR in the summer of 2024 and has made 63 appearances for the West London side, 45 of which came during ex-manager Marti Cifuentes’ stint.

Julien Stephan’s long-term QPR future may depend on the goalkeeper transfer call.

The Loftus Road team has had a disappointing Championship season, as evidenced by their 15th-place finish and the fact that they have lost their past four league games, including home defeats to Derby and Swansea City.

Meanwhile, Stephan’s choice to rotate goalkeepers Joe Walsh, Nardi, and Hamer contributed to their defensive blunders.

Walsh made more appearances than his goalkeeping peers this season, with 23 second-tier outings, but Stephan’s inability to agree on a first-choice contributed to his team’s 73 goals conceded.

The 45-year-old, who is entering his second season as an English manager, must sign at least one new goalkeeper this summer following the departures of Nardi and Hamer.

Stephan has shown some positive indications this season, with QPR posting impressive successes such as a 6-1 victory against Portsmouth in March.

However, if the Frenchman fails to fix his team’s defensive difficulties next season, the West London club’s board and supporters may turn against him.

As a result, Stephan must find a goalkeeper who can outperform Nardi, Hamer, and Walsh in the Championship this season.

This summer, the R’s should try to add new defenders and defensive midfielders to assist them solve their problems.
