A fresh West Ham United update has emerged, with the club’s co-owner issuing a strongly worded statement after Amanda Staveley agreed to purchase a stake.

Daniel Kretinsky has hinted at West Ham United’s volatility following Amanda Staveley’s agreement to purchase a minority interest.

In a statement, the late David Gold’s daughter stated that the former co-owner’s shares will be transferred to a consortium led by Staveley.

The former Newcastle United manager will purchase Vanessa Gold’s 25.1% interest on behalf of the Family Trust.”I have agreed to sell my family’s shareholding to a consortium led by Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi, in partnership with Ashland Forest Capital Partners,”

she stated. The sale is subject to a pre-emption process, which allows current shareholders to purchase the shares instead.Although the process is still ongoing, I wanted to update our fans on the current status and my goals.

West Ham confirmed this later on Saturday, saying: “West Ham United can confirm it is aware of the announcement from Joint-Chair Vanessa Gold that she has reached a provisional agreement to sell her shares to a consortium of PCP Capital Partners,

led by Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi, in partnership with Ashland Forest Capital Partners. “A pre-emption rights procedure will now apply to the proposed transaction. This gives all current shareholders the chance to purchase any remaining shares in round two and their proportionate percentage of shares in round one.

Nothing about the Club’s ownership structure will change until this process is finished, which should take about two months.West Ham United wants to reassure fans that this circumstance has no bearing on how the football team operates on a daily basis.

We are grateful to all of the fans for their unwavering support at this period as the new season preparations continue to take shape with devotion and commitment.Until the pre-emption procedure is completed, the Club will not be commenting more.”

Following David Sullivan’s resignation as club chairman last month, the Gold family decided to sell a 16 percent ownership to Kretinsky.

The Czech billionaire’s entire shareholding would have increased from 27 to 43 percent, making him the majority owner of West Ham.

Kretinsky, whose stake is listed under 1890s holdings, has been at West Ham since November 2021. According to talkSPORT, he pushed for Nuno Espirito Santo to remain as head coach following the club’s relegation to the Championship. However,

the agreement with Staveley has now cast doubt on the Premier League club’s ownership. In a statement of his own, Kretinsky stated that he will look to fight off the outside interest. “The agreement we had reached with the club at a crucial time. Today’s announcement does the opposite.”

Sullivan was inclined to make a change, and it was widely anticipated that Espirito Santo would depart, but the Portuguese is still in command.

Additionally, Kretinsky wanted captain Jarrod Bowen to remain and spearhead their campaign for promotion in the upcoming season. The winger has agreed to a new contract that will last until 2030.
