Borough was among several English and German teams interested in signing Spurs winger Mikey Moore on loan for 2026–2027, however a tweet from journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests that they might lose out on this specific player.

Romano said on the social media site X on Sunday night that the player is “open to the move” and that the Bundesliga team 1FC Koln is nearing an agreement to bring him to the Bundesliga on a season-long loan.

The Evening Standard reported at the end of last week that “while the Championship side wants to bring Moore to the Riverside Stadium, the 18-year-old is believed to be holding out for a move to a club in Europe’s top five leagues.” Middlesbrough was reportedly one of “a host of clubs interested” in Moore’s services.

Moore is currently travelling to Australia as part of Spurs’ preseason trip. He was left out of the team that drew 1-1 with Sydney FC on Wednesday and replaced Manor Solomon in the second half of their 2-1 victory over Chelsea, although he missed their 2-0 victory over Auckland FC last weekend.
