Wolves have been urged to sell Tolu Arokodare for more than £20 million following his good start at Ajax.
The Nigerian international joined Wanderers from Genk ahead of the 2025/26 season, just before the transfer deadline, as the club sought to add another number nine to its roster.
Arokodare had finished as Belgium’s top scorer, so there was optimism about his arrival, especially as he appeared to have the physical profile to compete in the Premier League.

Aside from that, Arokodare had a few off-field difficulties, including a violent altercation with Mateus Mane in the dressing room following a loss to West Ham.
Then, in the summer, the striker was accused of disrupting a training session in an attempt to push a trade away from Ajax.
Wolves advised to sell Tolu Arokodare, as Ajax plot permanent move.
The striker has not only been prolific in front of goal, but he has also been a valuable focal point for Ajax, so the Dutch club is obviously pleased with how he has started.
So much so that it has been stated that they are already considering a permanent move for Arokodare, although they do not want to pay more than €25 million (£20.95 million) for the midfielder.

No information has been provided about the option contained in the agreement, but given that Wolves played more for Arokodare, the £20.95 million price appears to be significantly lower, with the club paying roughly £24 million for the 25-year-old.
Nonetheless, when asked by FLW if the Championship club is correct to hold out for more money, Wolves fan pundit Thomas Woodhall believes they should allow a transfer for the figure indicated.
“He can leave. He’s a skilled footballer who is thriving at Ajax, where he’s demonstrating his abilities.
“But, in my judgement, he lacked the motivation to do so here. I believe that if we can come close to what we spent for him, we will have won.
“I believe that if he returned to Wolves, he would have the same negative attitude as before, so take the money and consider reinvesting in someone experienced, young and up-and-coming, or simply someone who can score goals!
Wolves will be thrilled with Tolu Arokodare’s performance vs Ajax.
Wolves’ lack of physicality up front has some fans wondering why the club didn’t do more to keep Arokodare, but given rumours of what happened behind the scenes, a move appeared to be the best option for all parties.
Few would have predicted that Wolves would receive anything like to the amount they paid for the target man in the summer, therefore a loan move was always likely.
So, in this case, Wolves would like Arokodare to perform well so that Ajax can increase his worth, which he has done.
He’s settled in at Ajax, has established himself as a major player, and is scoring goals in both the Eredivisie and Europe.
With that in mind, it’s no wonder that Ajax is attempting to secure a permanent move for Arokodare, given that other teams are likely to be keeping an eye on his position.
It may be something to keep an eye on in January, but it appears that Arokodare has played his final game in Old Gold, and he should fetch a cost that is, at the very least, near to what they spent for him, which would benefit Wolves.
