Norwich City: Philippe Clement Issues Latest Statement on Mo Toure’s Future Amid Hull City and Porto Links

Mo Toure has stated that he is focused on achieving his goals at Norwich City, despite questions about his future with the club.

The Australian international is currently sidelined due to an injury, but he has been a prolific goal scorer since joining in the January transfer window earlier this year.

The 22-year-old has not played for the Canaries since a 4-3 loss to Bolton Wanderers on September 20, when he was forced off after only 14 minutes due to injury.

However, he scored five goals in seven appearances in the first few weeks of the new Championship season, having scored nine times in 11 league games in 2025/26.

Toure was the subject of transfer rumours this summer, with Hull City and Porto both interested in his services.

However, he stayed with the Norfolk club when the transfer window closed, and he now has a contract until June 2030.

Toure has stated that his top priority is to achieve his goals with Norwich, as he recovers from a shoulder injury that will keep him out of play until January.

Speaking to Australian source Football360, he assured fans that he is content at Carrow Road and that his primary goal is to return as soon as possible to aid Philippe Clement’s side.

“Every player at every level has their goals – but at the moment I’m really happy where I am and I really enjoy wearing the shirt for Norwich each week,” Toure added.

“I love the fans and the stadium and it’s almost like my second home now.””I am not thinking about anything else at the moment.””I am ambitious and hope to achieve my goals with Norwich. We want to compete strongly and, perhaps, be promoted. That is where my mind is at and what I intend to do.

“For now I’m a Championship player and have to improve myself there before I go anywhere.”

Toure joined Norwich in January and was an important part of the club’s ascent up the Championship table in 2025/26 under Clement.

The Canaries ended ninth in the rankings, eight points shy of a play-off spot after being embroiled in a relegation battle when the Belgian took over.

The Norfolk club wants to battle for promotion this season and will be hoping Toure returns as soon as possible to help them achieve that goal.

Norwich City’s poor form without Mo Toure.

Norwich have lost their previous four league games in a row, including a setback against Bolton in which Toure was pulled off early.

Without the 22-year-old, Clement’s team has lost to Swansea City and Southampton.

As a result, Clement’s side is now 20th in the table, 14 points behind the leaders and seven behind eighth-place Stoke City.

Norwich’s next game is at home against Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon, with a 3pm kickoff.

Mo Toure’s injury is a major setback to Norwich.

Norwich are clearly missing Toure, which will make it more difficult for them to challenge for promotion this season given his extended absence.

The forward will not return until January, at which point they may be too far behind to compete for a top-eight finish given on their present performance.

If they are not in contention for promotion, a Premier League or European club, such as Hull or Porto, may approach him again, and it will be more difficult to turn down such an offer.

It’s a vicious spiral, which makes it much more vital that they improve their current form fast, as they fear losing ground to the top eight in the early stages of the season.
