Norwich City’s potential dream XI after September 1 has been outlined, with Sam Edozie included in the projected line-up.

This season, Norwich City hopes to contend for promotion to the Premier League.

Under Philippe Clement, the Canaries finished ninth in the previous season, eight points outside of the top six.

The 52-year-old led the Norfolk team out of the relegation zone and into the top half of the standings during an outstanding second half of 2025–2026.

Although they haven’t played in the top flight since 2022, Norwich hopes to make a comeback by the end of the current campaign.

The club will undoubtedly be eager to bolster the team before the market closes, but first they will need to manage the last few weeks of the transfer window.

As the deadline of September 1st draws near, we examine what an ideal Norwich XI may look like by the end of the window.

GK: Kovacevic Vladan

Last season, Vladan Kovacevic solidified his position as the team’s top goalkeeper, and he is probably going to maintain it in 2026–2027.

Kellen Fisher, LB

For Norwich, Kellen Fisher has shown himself to be a versatile player, and this summer, he has drawn transfer interest.

Even though he will miss the beginning of the season due to injury, the Norfolk team will be hoping to hang onto him because he is still their best left-back option.

Jose Cordoba, CB

In the second half of the previous season, Jose Cordoba solidified his status as an important member of the team under Clement.

By the time the market closes, the center-back is probably going to stay in the starting lineup.

CB: McConville, Ruairi

The Canaries shouldn’t try to change Ruairi McConville in the last few weeks of the window because he has shown himself to be a capable partner for Cordoba.

Jack Stacey, RB

Over the past three seasons, Jack Stacey has been an important member of Norwich, and it is doubtful that this will alter between now and September 1.

Kenny McLean, CM

Kenny McLean, a mainstay of the team since 2018–19, participated in 42 of Norwich’s 46 league games in 2025–2026.

Despite the Canaries’ midfield signings this summer, the Scot is probably going to stay in Clement’s preferred starting lineup.

CM: Pelle Mattson

Next season, there will be fierce competition for midfield minutes, with Sam Field and Jacob Wright also vying for playing time.

However, Clement is most likely to give Pelle Mattson the go-ahead to begin the campaign; no more changes in this area are anticipated between now and September 1.

LW: Edozie Samuel

Ali Ahmed is expected to miss the majority of the season due to his injury, so Norwich will need a new left-winger.

Additionally, Sam Edozie is reportedly drawing interest from Championship clubs this summer, making him a prime candidate to assume the role.

The 23-year-old is at the bottom of St. Mary’s hierarchy, but he has the ability to play at a very high level, therefore the Canaries should try to sign him.

AM: Ben Slimane Anis

This season, Anis Ben Slimane will have competition for playing time, especially with Andre Brooks joining the team.

He may have secured his spot in the starting lineup for the time being, though.

RW: Makama Jovon

Jovon Makama scored ten goals in 28 league games during his encouraging debut season with the Canaries.

Additionally, it makes the most sense for Clement’s team to use Jovon Makama largely as the starting right-winger now that Mo Touré has secured the striker position.

ST: Mo Touré

After joining the team in January of last year, Touré made a significant contribution by scoring nine goals in 11 Championship games.

He will probably be Clement’s primary striker this season.
