Preston North End supporters have been given an update on when Amr Zedan’s takeover is expected to be completed.
The Lancashire club has stagnated under the ownership of the Hemmings family in recent seasons, finishing 14th in the Championship last season.
North End’s 2024/25 campaign was even less comfortable, as they narrowly survived relegation by one point, while Luton Town, Plymouth Argyle, and Cardiff City were relegated instead.
Preston fans will be hoping to see their team display greater ambition next season, and their aspirations may be dependent on if Zedan completes his takeover.
Preston North End learns when Amr Zedan may finalise his takeover.

On Thursday, the Deepdale club discovered the Championship matches for the following season, and fans will be looking forward to their opening day match against fellow North West team Bolton Wanderers.
Wanderers won the League One play-off final last month, and Preston will be eager to grab all three points against a newly promoted opponent to start the season on a high note.
North End’s first home game is against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 22, and facing one of last season’s Premier League clubs is a daunting prospect.
Nixon reported on Patreon in May that Saudi-American businessman Zedan had been making behind-the-scenes moves to take control Preston.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, a Lilywhites fan asked Nixon via X whether his club’s takeover or the World Cup final would come first, and the journalist responded: “North End takeover, mate.”
The World Cup final is scheduled for July 19, therefore Preston fans might expect great news about their club soon.
South Africa will face co-hosts Canada in the new round of 32, while Brazil, Germany, Morocco, Mexico, the United States, Switzerland, and Argentina have already advanced from their respective groups.
Amr Zedan’s news gives Preston a boost in the transfer window
According to Nixon’s aforementioned report from last month, Zedan intends to retain current Lilywhites boss Paul Heckingbottom once his takeover is completed.
Meanwhile, a successful summer transfer window will help Heckingbottom take the Deepdale team towards the Championship play-offs.
Teams finishing seventh and eighth next season will go to the play-offs, increasing North End’s prospects of competing for a place in the Premier League.
Preston have been linked with Swansea City’s Josh Key, but Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth are also interested.
If Zedan completes his takeover in the next weeks, the Lancashire club would be able to complete deals for players such as Key, who will improve their prospects of having a good campaign next season.
Meanwhile, Preston are interested in Plymouth Argyle forward Lorent Tolaj, according to the Lancashire Post.
Tolaj scored 21 goals and eight assists in 35 games in all competitions for the Pilgrims last season, and he is expected to be in great demand again this summer.
Zedan’s acquisition will strengthen the North West side’s coffers, allowing them to complete ambitious transactions while also retaining their interest in the 24-year-old.
