At the end of a mixed season for the West London club, one Queens Park Rangers player has confirmed on social media that he will leave this summer.
With a poor run of six games without a win to end the season, the Hoops will have work to do in the transfer market this summer.
A 3-0 defeat against Ipswich Town on the last weekend dropped them to 15th place in the Championship, which may be considered an unsatisfying finish given that they spent much of the season in the top half of the table.
Rangers do not have as many players out of contract as other Championship clubs, with seven players coming to the end of their contracts.
However, they are already without one of those who joined the club last year, according to an Instagram statement from the player himself, who says that he will be leaving Loftus Road now that the season has concluded.
Isaac Hayden is expected to quit Loftus Road after one season with Queens Park Rangers.

Following QPR’s season-ending defeat at Ipswich Town, defensive midfielder Isaac Hayden announced on Instagram that he will leave the club.
In a heartfelt message to fans, Hayden stated, “Whenever I leave a club, I always try to leave it in a better place, and I believe this club will go from strength to strength moving forwards,” and that he will “always hold QPR in my heart and wish everyone associated with the club the best for the future.”
Hayden joined Loftus Road as a free agent in August 2025, signing a one-year contract after being released by Newcastle.
Although he had been a Newcastle player for nine years, he had spent a significant amount of that time on loan elsewhere, including the second half of the 2023-24 season at Loftus Road, where he went after being recalled by Newcastle from Belgian club Standard Liege.
A permanent transfer to west London occurred in August, although his stay lasted less than a full calendar year, with the 31-year-old moving on to pastures new.
Isaac Hayden’s exit might mark the beginning of a summer of change at Loftus Road.

Isaac Hayden made over 170 appearances for Newcastle United during his nine-year tenure, but he was no stranger to loan periods, having previously played for Norwich City and Portsmouth, as well as in Belgium and at Loftus Road.
However, he returned to Loftus Road after being released by Newcastle United last summer, with QPR signing him near the end of the summer transfer window. It was a terrible moment for the team, which had lost 7-1 to Coventry City the weekend before Hayden arrived, but Hayden made his return appearance against Charlton Athletic the following Saturday, which Rangers won 3-1. Indeed, they won his first three matches back at Loftus Road.
Hayden made 29 appearances for QPR during the 2025-26 season, 14 of which were starts. There were times when the team appeared to be in contention for a play-off spot, but a poor run of form in the final third of the season – they won only four of their final 15 games, three of which came in March – saw them fade and fall into the bottom half of the table, though they were never in danger of being drawn into a battle to avoid relegation.
While some at Loftus Road will be saddened to say goodbye to him, Queens Park Rangers will be relieved to have a relatively significant wage off their books. Salary Sport estimates him to have earned ยฃ16,000 per week this season, placing him among the club’s highest earners; that money can now be transferred elsewhere.
The French media has speculated that head coach Julien Stephan could be drawn away from Loftus Road this summer, but Stephan himself has discounted much of this. Nonetheless, following a season that had moments of promise but fell apart significantly in its final weeks, Queens Park Rangers are likely to have a busy summer in the transfer market, and they will benefit from a quick decision on whether the player stays or not, whether made by the player or the club.
This was QPR’s 11th consecutive Championship season, and while the club’s performance in 2025-26 improved on the previous season, when they finished 18th, the focus at Loftus Road will now be on how they can build on this season’s positives for a more concerted push for promotion the following season. Whatever the future holds for QPR, Isaac Hayden appears to be out of the picture.
