West Bromwich Albion have received an immediate two-point deduction for violating the English Football League’s financial standards.
The sanction moves the team six points clear of the relegation zone with only two games remaining, with a better goal difference than Oxford United in 22nd position.

The EFL’s finance unit decided that Albion had surpassed the permissible £39 million losses over a three-year period ending with the 2024-25 season.
However, the club has aggressively opposed the verdict, claiming that it followed Profitability and Sustainability guidelines and is considering an appeal.
