Frank Lampard changed Coventry to restore his managerial status.
Coventry City chairman Doug King anticipates interest in head coach Frank Lampard as Chelsea begins their hunt for a new manager.

Lampard’s managerial reputation has never been greater, having guided Coventry back to the Premier League after a 25-year absence and winning the Championship title this week.
King is convinced Lampard is “happy” at Coventry, but acknowledges that his achievements will pique the interest of rival teams.
Chelsea are aiming to hire a new permanent manager in the summer after firing Liam Rosenior this week, less than four months into his six-and-a-half-year deal.
Lampard played for Chelsea for 13 years and was twice named as their coach, including a short time as caretaker manager in 2023.”You can see how emotionally connected [Lampard] is with the city, you can see what it meant to him to get promoted, and I think he’s found a happy place at the moment,” King told the BBC in an interview released on Thursday.
“It doesn’t mean there’s not going to be some staggering bid for him in the summer and he’ll have to make his choices, because he’s shown his credentials as a high-quality head coach, but I’m not going to comment on that, I can’t control it.””I think he’s happy, I’m happy, everyone’s happy, we’ve just got smiles on our faces, and we don’t worry about what may or may not happen for the head coach.”
Lampard’s contract at Coventry lasts until June 2027.
Chelsea fired manager Liam Rosenior on Wednesday after a five-match Premier League losing streak in which they did not score a single goal.
Andoni Iraola, who will leave Bournemouth in the summer, has been linked with Chelsea by British media.
The London-based club will face Leeds United in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
