An EFL club has been forced to postpone two matches, with official statements now released.

Grimsby Town have had to postpone two games owing to international calls-ups.

David Artell’s team was slated to play Cambridge United on March 24 and Chesterfield on March 28 in League Two.

However, those games have been put back due to the EFL’s international call-up requirements.

Championship, League One, and League Two encounters scheduled during the international window can be postponed, according to EFL rules, ‘if a team receives a sufficient number of international call-ups’.

EFL clubs may request a postponement if ‘at least three players are selected for their country’s senior, Under-21, Under-20, or Under-19 teams.’

Grimsby are in that category, as Geza David Turi, Clarke Oduor, and Jude Soonsup-Bell were all called up for international duty in March.
