Sheffield United could have an exciting summer transfer window, as Chris Wilder’s side appears to face a difficult task in winning promotion to the Premier League this season.
The Blades had a severely dismal start to the 2025/26 Championship campaign under the supervision of Ruben Selles, who was stripped of his duties as manager of the club in
Wilder has subsequently led Sheffield United back in the right path, and he hopes to earn another promotion with the club in the near future.
Tyler Bindon, a former Reading defender, has gained Wilder’s attention in the second half of the season, and he has been a fixture in the starting lineup.
It will be intriguing to see what the future holds for the 21-year-old, who is likely to return to his parent club, Nottingham Forest, once his loan stay at Bramall Lane ends.
Chris Wilder admits Tyler Bindon’s transfer.

During a pre-match press conference for Sheffield United’s match against Birmingham City at St Andrew’s this weekend, Wilder stated that the club is open to discussing the possibility of renewing his loan arrangement for the 2026/27 season.Tyler sees himself staying until the end of the season. If Forest remain in the division, he will likely seek loan opportunities. He’s someone we’d be open to talking to. I’d like to think he’s had a good time; he still has some football to play, and he still needs to stay on the team, which is important to him.”
Bindon’s contract with Nottingham Forest runs until the summer of 2028, and his immediate future may be determined by the division the Reds play in.
Forest have spent much of the second half of the season in and around the Premier League relegation zone, and City Ground fans are in for a nerve-racking few months.
Chris Wilder on working with Tyler Bindon

Bindon is expected to compete in the 2026 World Cup this summer, so the New Zealand international will have a busy few months both on and off the pitch.
Wilder praised the center-back for his eagerness to learn and grow throughout his time at Sheffield United. He has a busy summer ahead of him, including the World Cup, which is a fantastic opportunity. But he’s been fantastic to work with. He wants to learn and progress, so we’ll see what happens. He is doing himself no harm with his attitude at the football club and his performances for us.”
Bindon appears to be on the rise in English football, having earned a reputation for himself since his EFL debut with Reading.
He was originally signed for the Royals’ Under-21s squad, but owing to off-field issues, he was thrust into the first-team picture and has never looked back, winning the club’s Player of the Season award in the 2024/25 campaign.
Those outstanding performances earned him a move to Nottingham Forest shortly after, and after a difficult start under Ruben Selles’ direction, Bindon has gone on to capture the attention for all the right reasons at Sheffield United this season.
