Bristol City’s Championship match against Coventry City was momentarily interrupted owing to an emergency in the crowd.
The referee halted play around the 70-minute mark as fans in the away end anxiously requested assistance.
It was unclear why the game had been delayed, and players were spotted scuffling amid the uncertainty.
However, officials and medical personnel at Ashton Gate dashed over to the area where the travelling Sky Blues supporters were seated behind the goal.
The pause lasted only a few minutes before play restarted.
At the time of the incident, Coventry was leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Haji Wright.
Sakamoto gave Frank Lampard’s team the lead in the 37th minute, rising to head home Jay Dasilva’s floating cross from six yards.
It was the Japanese star’s fifth league goal of the 2025/26 season.
Wright extended the Sky Blues’ lead in first-half stoppage time with a precise finish just inside the 18-yard box.
It brought the American striker’s season goal count to 16, and he remains in contention for the Championship’s Golden Boot award.
Wright’s goal came just minutes after Coventry was reduced to ten men following a straight red card for defender Joel Latibeaudiere.
