The Hull City and Chelsea games have been cancelled due to an incident at the stadium. The new date for the rematch has been confirmed.

Hull City and Chelsea managers denounce the chanting at MKM Stadium as arrests are made.

The Tigers were defeated by the Premier League team in front of the television cameras on Friday evening.

Sergej Jakirovic and Liam Rosenior criticized racist shouting by a small group of fans at the MKM Stadium on Friday night.

City were compelled to take the extraordinary step of issuing statements during the Tigers’ 4-0 loss to Liam Rosenior’s Blues, warning spectators against such behaviour.

Steve Jordan, City’s stadium announcer, advised against it at halftime and again in the 60th minute, when he revealed that several arrests had been made after police reviewed CCTV footage inside the stadium.

On the eve of the FA Cup match, City issued a statement forbidding anyone in the sold-out crowd against engaging in discriminatory chants.

“I did not hear that. This is not appropriate for both the stadium and the general public. “This is definitely not good,” Jakirovic stated. “The stadium is not a place for that, and this is the reason why they have been arrested.”

Former Tigers manager Liam Rosenior, who came to the MKM Stadium for the first time since being fired over two years ago, denied hearing the chants but underlined his displeasure.

“Without knowing what has happened, any discriminatory language is unacceptable,” he added. “The fourth official mentioned something to me, but I was so focused on the game I honestly don’t know what happened.”

Chelsea Pride, the club’s official LGBTQ+ supporter group, issued a statement saying, “Tonight, homophobic shouting was once again directed at our supporters. This is completely inappropriate.
