A major change will influence ‘dodgy’ Fire Stick use as 17 UK areas are targeted by authorities.

With the distribution and use of jailbroken Amazon Fire TV Stick devices in the United Kingdom only increasing in the face of condemnation and penalties, authorities and key companies are working together to find solutions.

Despite the threat of significant fines and even jail sentences for those found guilty of distributing ‘dodgy’ Fire Sticks, as well as damning revelations detailing a £7 billion cost to the national economy from such activities and repeated warnings from authorities and others, social attitudes and consumption rates have yet to change.

Even a new crackdown in 17 areas across the country has not deterred punters from purchasing illegal software to avoid paying higher prices for legal live event streaming access, with more action needed to achieve the desired result and restore law and order in the world of piracy.

Indeed, buying and utilizing an unlawful streaming gadget is incredibly simple, since users can just purchase a Fire Stick with chipped software pre-installed, requiring them only to launch an application to access a selection of pirated sporting and entertainment content.

However, this could change once a new breakthrough in Amazon’s device limits emerges.

Major Amazon Fire Stick update revealed, which could disrupt ‘dodgy’ streaming use.

A recent report from The Sun detailed significant newfound changes in Amazon’s ability to restrict pirated content, which is likely to have a tangible knock-on effect for both distributors and users while making music to the ears of authorities in an ever-intensifying effort to reduce illegal broadcasting consumption.

Amazon is claimed to be implementing stronger restrictions on Fire Stick users as unlawful content continues to be accessed, after initially barring piracy programs last year.

However, Amazon has since taken action to restrict the aforementioned apps. This approach makes it nearly impossible to install or activate the apps, which will hopefully deter distributors in particular.

Indeed, these apps no longer appear in Amazon’s app store. While it is unclear what these programs are, people who have previously chipped Amazon Fire Sticks with illegal software will definitely be familiar – and may now reconsider their actions.

Previously, users could get around more relaxed limitations by employing cloning applications or simply disregarding warning letters that Amazon suspected contained stolen content.

However, jailbreaking and utilizing a Fire Stick device are now expected to become more difficult – even if the issue with pre-existing chipped devices remains unresolved and distributors may find new ways to circumvent the new limitations.

The latest Amazon Fire Stick change comes amid the 17-area UK crackdown on ‘dodgy’ streaming devices.

This current update follows the previously reported crackdown on no fewer than 17 regions around the UK in a statement of intent on the government’ efforts and seriousness in combating piracy.

The crackdown was announced at the beginning of the year, with places across the country targeted in a nationwide campaign.

According to a Daily Record report, the majority of leading domestic counties faced a crackdown. Down south, Sussex, Kent, London, and South Wales were all on the authorities’ crackdown list, while Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Staffordshire, and both the East and West Midlands were also targeted, as was Norfolk.

Further north, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Northumbria, North Yorkshire, and the North West and North East of England were also mentioned.
