Tom Wagner has issued the latest update from Birmingham City’s training ground, highlighting his direct involvement with the first team.

Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner has sent his latest message of encouragement to Blues fans via social media ahead of the club’s forthcoming match against Stoke City at St. Andrew’s at Knighthead Park.

The American has flown in from across the Atlantic for tomorrow’s Championship game, in which Chris Davies might make complete or first-team debuts for Jhon Solis, Ibrahim Osman, and £6 million-rated attacker August Priske.

It is also a critical match in Blues’ season as a whole, as they will try to make it four wins in their last five matches across all competitions while attempting to cut the five-point gap between themselves and the play-off places.

Indeed, Birmingham are looking for revenge after a poor performance in North Staffordshire on September 13th resulted in a 1-0 defeat, with Bosun Lawal scoring the game’s only goal with a close-range header that looped over Ryan Allsop.

However, Stoke will face a much-changed Blues team when they return to B9 for the first time in 25 months, having won 3-1 on their previous visit on Boxing Day 2023.

Wagner has frequently expressed his strong views on developments at St. Andrew’s, both on and off the pitch, since his initial takeover with Knighthead Capital Management in the summer of 2023, which was expanded into a complete acquisition in November.

As a result, the attention has been firmly focused on Blues in a variety of ways, with many expecting Davies’ side to mount a sustained push for the play-offs before a ball was kicked.

And, following his team’s first away victory since October 21st against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek, the extremely vocal owner has maintained a positive attitude, which appears to have rubbed off on the entire squad, as they posed for an Instagram photo.

Tom Wagner’s newest passionate Birmingham City letter demonstrates how connected he is with the club.

Throughout his two-and-a-half year tenure as majority owner in this part of the Second City, Wagner has fully immersed himself in the working-class outlook synonymous with Birmingham and its people, which has made him extremely popular, as has the millions of pounds he has invested in various aspects of the club.

During that time, the American has frequently been spotted in the stands at away games, most notably against Wrexham, as well as in the directors’ box at St. Andrew’s alongside the likes of Director of Football Craig Gardner, CEO Jeremy Dale, and, on occasion, Advisory Board president and former NFL legend Tom Brady.

On top of that, Wagner has held several ‘Open House’ meetings to show supporters his lofty and ambitious plans, which continued in November when he was, unsurprisingly, at the forefront of the unveiling of the 62,000-seater Powerhouse stadium, which will be completed in the coming years.

He was seen issuing a message of support following the Blues’ 2-0 victory at Hillsborough in midweek, thanks to goals from Marvin Ducksch and Kyogo Furuhashi, and has since been present at the club’s Elite Performance and Innovation Centre training base in Henley-in-Arden ahead of the club’s second home game of 2026.

Wagner expressed his affection for the city, club, and squad while posing for a photo with the first-team squad, including Davies and his coaching staff. He added, “LFG!!!”Continue right on.

He then added, “See you (the fans) tomorrow……..,” followed by his adopted abbreviation, “FEA,” expressing his feelings about the outside noise created to put pressure on the team.

Birmingham City will like their chances of payback against a depleted Stoke City.

Given their recent record rise, the Blues will be confident of picking up three points against a Stoke team that is short on players available to Mark Robins.

Lawal, who scored the winner in the reverse fixture, is out due to suspension, while Gavin Bazunu, a Southampton loanee, has become the latest player to join City’s expanding injured list.

Blues have four players ruled out for this match: Ethan Laird, Jack Robinson, Alex Cochrane, and Demarai Gray, but they have received a boost from Bright Osayi-Samuel, who returned from AFCON this week after helping Nigeria finish third.

As a result, Wagner will be hopeful that Birmingham’s recent winning streak continues.
