West Bromwich Albion have fired Ryan Mason.
The decision was made less than 24 hours after the Baggies’ 2-1 defeat to Leicester City.
West Brom’s loss to Leicester was their tenth successive away defeat, leaving them 18th in the Championship.
“West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with men’s first team Head Coach Ryan Mason,” a statement from the club said.
“Nigel Gibbs, Assistant Head Coach, and Sam Pooley, First Team Coach and Head of Performance, have also left The Hawthorns.
“The club would like to thank Ryan, Nigel, and Sam for their efforts and wish them all the best in the future.
“First Team Coach James Morrison will supervise first-team affairs on an interim basis until a new staff is hired.
“The process of recruiting a new men’s first team Head Coach and staff is under way.”
TalkSPORT understands that England under-21 coach Lee Carsley is a candidate to replace Mason.
Mason was hired as West Brom’s manager on July 1, his first senior managerial post.
Despite a promising start in which the Baggies won three and drew one of their first four league games, results quickly deserted the Midlands team.
Mason would win only six of the next 22 matches in all competitions, and his tenure ended with four defeats in five games.
Mason left West Brom with a record of nine wins, four draws, and 14 loses in 27 games in charge.
