The Second City side returned to the second tier this season with a strong reputation, having shattered the League One points record on their way to the third-tier triumph the previous season.
To live up to that reputation, the Blues spent heavily in the summer transfer window, adding top-tier players such as Tommy Doyle, Demarai Gray, and Kyogo Furuhashi. This company established high expectations for the campaign, hinting at a potential play-off charge.
Things haven’t been as easy for Birmingham, who sit 14th in the Championship after 22 games. Blues had worked their way back into the play-off picture, but a recent run of poor form has significantly slowed their progress.

According to the article, Birmingham are putting up a list of successors, with Michael Carrick being named by several supporters online.
When asked if the Blues should switch Davies for Carrick, Football League World’s Birmingham City fan analyst, Jason Moore, says the club should give their present manager more time to turn things around.
However, if Davies is freed of his duties in the coming weeks, Jason has recognized Carrick as a suitable replacement due to stylistic similarities.
“I’m not quite there with Davies out,” Jason admitted. “They have endorsed him. Everything the club has done has revolved around what he wants and what he wants to accomplish on the field. So, no, I am not quite there.
“I have definitely had that talk with some Blues supporters. I believe Carrick is the safest option because it requires little change.We are a possession-based team. Carrick will arrive, and you will not need to make any significant changes. You’ve basically got a local flight replacement.
“Is this a good thing? I am not sure, but Carrick would be one for me. The other apparent choice is Gary O’Neill. He is out of work after greatly outperforming at Bournemouth.
“I believe he did a wonderful job at Wolves since they were always honking. Carrick is the safest option.
“Davies isn’t out yet, but he’s getting close. “I’d take Carrick.”
